HAITI is poorest country in the Western Hemisphere. With an estimated population of 9 million, nearly half of all Haitians are illiterate, and at least 70 percent live with less than $2 USD daily. It is a land that overflows with government corruption, influenced by violence, curses, and destitution under the voodoo religion. Yet God has hope for the land of Haiti.
YWAM Cornerstone Haiti Project:
Construction of a Multi-Purpose Discipleship Training and Community Developing Center
Cornerstone is based in New York and is part of Youth With A Mission (YWAM), an international and interdenominational missions organization. Cornerstone is focusing on Haiti, specifically the northern area of the capital of Port-au-Prince, in an impoverished district called Arcahaie. For the Haiti Project, we are planning to construct a multi-purpose ministry center to disciple young adult, provide local families with medical benefit, and develop the community and plant churches. Through these ministries, we hope to assist and allow the people of Haiti to experience God’s grace and the power of the Gospel, starting in the year 2017.
